I was born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1985 and am currently based in the Hartford, CT area working as a freelance photographer for/with some great people. My location is ideal for regional travel within all of Connecticut and much of New England, even reaching the outer suburbs of NYC and Boston in 90 minutes. Western Mass (45mins), Rhode Island (60-75mins), the Hudson Valley (90mins), Southern Vermont (90mins), Albany (2hrs) and New Hampshire (2hrs)...all points between and beyond are accessible.
With 16 years of full-time freelance experience, I can seamlessly navigate news, portraits, enterprise, tv/film sets, sports, food and travel...often commissions are a blend of subjects/styles. I have experience efficiently working solo, successfully as part of a crew and leading small creative teams in the field / in-studio. For the past decade I’ve been a regular contributor to national outlets like The New York Times, Bloomberg and The Washington Post. I have also worked very closely with tourism agencies like the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors authority and NYC & Company, and have been an ideal match for television productions of all sizes with Warner Bros. Discovery brands. I pride myself on being a visual swiss army knife with an unrelenting work ethtic.
I am also an FAA certified drone pilot as of April 2023.
Prior to Connecticut I freelanced for five years in Las Vegas, another five in Nashville, yet another five in New York City and before that earned a Bachelor of Journalism from The University of Texas at Austin. Portions of my back archive are syndicated by Redux Pictures.
When not working I’m probably somewhere that has used goods for sale, at a record store or developing b&w film of my wife and two sons. If we teamed up at a Simpsons trivia contest, we’d be contenders.
